Posting early this week because… IT’S MY BIRTHDAY! :D

… and I know you all want details from Sunday’s early celebrations!

To kick off my birthday celebrations this year, I took advantage of a local event that hit close to home for me considering what I do for work and what I love to do for fun. Sunday before my actual birthday was The Mill at Broadway’s bottomless mimosa brunch - advertised to be ‘Sacramento’s biggest brunch’ - and it did not disappoint. The bottomless mimosas were made by the pitcher and were mixed perfectly. After about six rounds (lol) we hit up the food trucks and local vendors for treats and yummies to help hold off the champagne buzz. The models were also open to tour, which was one of the best parts, because the pent home suits have a roof top to die for. Naturally we had a dance party while on the rooftop patio, and when we found the garage full of balloons… well, we did what any sane person would do and ran around in them like little kids, haha. The balloons were for this awesome display sign they made that was open for taking pictures (which we took full advantage of of course)

The whole day was sort of impromptu, coincidental, and lucky really. I didn’t have a plan besides go on an adventure; and so the friends who came along with me had almost no idea what the plan was until the day before - they just knew we were going downtown to some mimosa thing that had a little to do with my work haha. I’m so lucky to have friends in my life that will clear their Sunday for super vague b-day plans like that, and even luckier to have friends that will drive super far to come hang out with me <3

This day was seriously so much fun; it was the perfect kind of Sunday, but it wouldn’t have been that way without the people I was with. Here’s my Sunday Celebration Shout Outs:

Shout out to Alicia for decorating her house so that when I came to pick her up for the day we got to kick things off right. You are so very thoughtful, kind, and generous. Shout out to Chelsea for adventuring around with me all day, even when your phone died and we weren’t sure how we’d get you home LOL. You are a trooper, with a huge heart, and I am so glad that I met you. Shout out to Kristin for driving into Sacramento to come hang with me at my favorite places, and for getting me the coolest 7 chakra wind chime. You have such a big heart, are so strong, and we have such a unique bond. Last but most definitely not least, shout out to my momma for being the coolest mom out there, for always being down to hang, and for being my best friend. You have shaped me into the woman I am today more than you even know and I couldn’t be more grateful for our relationship.

Okay, and as for outfit details…

This amazing blue silk polka dot jacket was a thrift store find, believe it or not. It is not a rain coat, just looks like one, but actually held up great during the morning showers when we didn’t make it under an awning or into a garage. I’ve searched everywhere for a link to this jacket, but it seems it is one of those once in a lifetime pieces. Proof it pays off to dig in a thrift store from time to time…

The super relaxed mom jeans are Wild Fable from Target. You have previously seen them in the Hello Vacation: Outfit Inspiration blogpost. I absolutely love these for weekends because of how comfortable they are! I love to cuff the bottoms or roll up the hem depending on the type of shoes I’m wearing. I went with a rolled up pant leg since I had on short booties, to give the outfit a more finished look. Click here to get yours.

My shirt was also a Target find. This white collared shirt is the staple white shirt I have been looking for. It is nice and long which made tying it up in the front so easy. Since the mom jeans are so high waisted and the shirt is long sleeve, tying the shirt at my waist gave some definition and shape back to my body so it didn’t get lost under all of that fabric.

To finish the outfit off, I went with my favorite black booties from Vince Camuto and matched it to my black Tory Burch shoulder bag. I know some people are afraid to mix black with this much blue but I like living on the edge ;) Plus I think the contrast is what helps keep the outfit punchy and not washed out with all of the same tones. My booties are sold out now, but click here for a style that looks almost the same from the same designer.

I loved wearing this outfit out and about all day. I had enough pockets for everything I could hold in my purse, didn’t have a giant bag weighing me down, and felt comfortable enough to cruise all day long.

This is already one of the best birthday’s - by far - not just because of how much fun I’m already having, but because I feel just so surrounded by love. Thank you to every one of you reading weekly, subscribed, and supporting. It is noticed, it is appreciated, and it is never taken for granted. Thanks for being a part of my tribe and for making my life so rich.

xoxo
