The Sunless Self Tanning Lotion We've All Been Waiting For
This stuff is freakin’ amazing. You know how you get that thought going into summer like, “I have had no time to get in the sun, I am so pale. Oh, I’ll just get some sunless self tanner and call it good”, but it ends up being a terrible streaky mess of a decision?
I know for me, the problem with most self tanning lotions - if they actually work - they are so pigmented and dark brown that I can never seem to rub them into my skin enough to keep the residue from coming off onto my clothing.
I was skeptical when I saw this hit the shelves of my favorite stores; but naturally, when my favorite bloggers endorsed it (and raved about it) I became interested. The formula is clear so that was the biggest eyebrow raiser, and the fact that it was a foam… well it’s something I haven’t seen or tried before, so I didn’t know what to expect. I bought it at Target this last trip and figured what the heck, let’s try it out.

The other thing that pushed me into trying this sunless self tanner? This last year I had been going to the tanning booths to keep a mild glow, but recently I saw a dermatologist that removed two moles from my arm because they were atypical, which has since made me a little more conscious of the risk I’m taking when I go into those tanning booths. I’ve never been a fan of tanning lotions, but this little bit of fear that I have now that is telling me to air on the side of caution. I have been just using this lotion every time I shower and I am loving the results.
The foam is super light and once you start rubbing it onto your skin it becomes more of a watery, oily lather that is really easy to rub in all the way. It doesn’t feel sticky when it’s all rubbed and and takes no additional dry time. You don’t see the results right away, it does take a little bit of time to set in, but don’t worry - once it’s dry you will not be orange. And you also don’t have to worry about smelling like most self tanning lotions after use either, this one has a nice coconut scent.
Like, thank you L’Oreal and your genius team for finally figuring this out. The foam formula is a serious game changer, and the fact that it’s clear and doesn’t come off on your clothes or bed sheets? Ideal.
