Wedding ReCap - Erinn + Cameron - 08032019

A little over a week ago these two gorgeous people said “I Do” to a lifetime of loving one another unconditionally, and I was lucky enough to be there.

I’m also lucky enough to call all of these gorgeous people my family.

Fish were jumping. Deer were grazing. A golden glow from the setting sun fell behind the trees, casting a warm yellow tone on everything in the valley. Dust fluttered in the air as cars of excited guests parked upon the hill. Music, drinks, cheese, and decedent treats awaited below under the giant redwood trees. This magical cocktail hour just built the suspense. It was all too perfect already.

Down the hill - on this charming little dock floating in what appeared to be a pond made just for them - the stage was set for our two love birds to share vows that would start their new life together as a married couple.

Without a doubt, this was the most lovely wedding I have ever been witness to. You always think that when you leave a wonderfully done wedding, but really - this was it. My cousin, Erinn and Cameron are two incredibly creative individuals that when teamed up together become an unstoppable creative force, and their wedding was a true reflection of that. Better yet - it was a true reflection of their love. A love 10 years in the making.

The air was thick with excited tension as we all anticipated Erinn’s walk down the (very steep) isle. I was so excited I couldn’t really breath. I’m sure I wasn’t alone. I couldn’t tear my eyes away from her quick enough to catch Cameron’s face when he first saw his bride, but seeing Erinn’s face when she finally could see (and touch) his face, was everything. You could feel that with him, she was finally home.

Their vows were written so eloquently and delivered so passionately that absolutely everyone listening could feel the struggles and strengths that they endured throughout the 10 years they had been growing together before this moment. I took a glance around as I felt my eyes welling with tears, worried I was the only one crying like a baby, and found that literally everyone was with me. Everyone was 1) stunned by their performance and was 2) overwhelmed with happiness for them. The way their love for one another poured out and radiated from them, it seemed as if the golden glow of the sun was actually cast from them on the dock.

The party that ensued after this magical ceremony was everything I imagine they hoped it would be. The dinner, setting and food, was immaculate, the speeches were incredible and heart felt, and everyone danced until they couldn’t any more. It was the most wonderful day filled with nothing but light, love, and laughter. Families combined, friends were made, whiskey was drank, tables were danced on, glasses were broken, songs were sang louder and more poorly than ever, and hearts were filled past the brim.

It was the wedding of the century for the couple of the century.

Cheers to Erinn + Cameron 08/03/2019

Our wedding outfits came together so easily - it didn’t feel real.

Weddings are one of those events you can seriously stress over preparing for, so I was pleasantly surprised how calm and collected we were when it was time to prep and to pack.

For Brandon’s wedding guest outfit, I took FULL advantage of the Nordstrom anniversary sale and “order online - pick up in store” options. Luckily his belt + dress shoe combination is something we already had, so there was no need to replace or question those items. I strongly suggest this - Men (or ladies, if you are in charge of styling your man for events) - keep a matching pair of dress shoes and belt READY TO GO. Have one set in brown or black depending on your/his style, or both, depending on how often you/you two get dressed up.

His polo is Nordstom Men’s house brand and was only $30.00 in the sale. I had also purchased a blue option for him as an alternate for future styling since it was such a good deal. The fabric is soft and doesn’t easily wrinkle making it perfect for travel. His pants are H&M men’s slim fit dress slacks in size 36. The heather grey blend is nice and soft, but the color is deep enough to look much more expensive than they really were. He danced and got down in them all night long - so I’m going to say they were pretty comfortable.

The only last minute item we had to deal with were my shoes (though if you know DSW shipping times as well as I do, it can still be a no sweat situation). I got lucky though above all when it came to the shoes I won’t lie. I knew I wanted a soft pink shoe, preferably with a tie detail, and almost gave up on the search right before stumbling upon these. I don’t know what I did to make the shoe gods so happy with me (probably my copious amount of shopping) but I am so glad they blessed me with this find… and free 2 day shipping. (Holla!)

I had found my dress on sale a year prior. This INC dress was the perfect storm. While at Macy’s, shopping for someone else, I found this just hanging there - out of place - waiting for me to come get it. Even though the trip wasn’t for me, I tried this lil’ baby on and boy am I so glad I did. The dress was cotton, comfortable, and just the right vibe. I wasn’t sure for what yet - but I knew it was the right vibe for something. It spoke to me. Not long after we found out the date of my cousin’s wedding and location and I realized that THIS, this event was what the dress called my name for. It was on sale for under $50.00 - SCORE.

I did not alter the dress until a week before the wedding. Our bodies change, and luckily it still fit, but some small adjustments made it fit even better. I took up the hem about 2” so it would still grace the floor as I walked, and brought the hem up about an inch to make for better movement.

The clutch is actually the piece that inspired the whole look. Leave it to me to let a clutch determine my style fate. Tory Burch holds a bi-yearly sale and when I saw this gorgeous silk bag go on sale, I quickly snatched it up. At almost 50% off - it was a no-brainer. I had this also for about a year prior to the wedding. If this piece shows one thing about me, it’s that I’m not afraid to make a blind fashion investment LOL. But it paid off, amIright??

Surprisingly the jewelry for this look came together in piece mail as well. I found my multi colored blush jewel drop earrings one day at DSW, while shopping for my sister’s wedding shoes. They were 75% off, and I had no idea what I needed them for except that maybe someday I’d wear them with my pretty pink clutch (LOL @ my purchase justifications) so I had to have them. I don’t remember exactly, but pretty sure they were around $10.00. The necklace is now one of my favorite staple pieces because it has an off center fresh water pearl sitting next to one dainty diamond. There’s something bout the imbalance of the necklace that draws me to it. $18.00 from Francesca’s.
