The Hunt: Mascara that won’t run....

The Hunt: Mascara that won’t run....

Charlotte Tilsbury, NARS narcissist, and Chanel Le Volume - In Review

I’m going to give away the plot twist to this post right now: I loved them all

BUT! One was better than the others…

In regards to mascaras that don’t run that is! As a working woman, finding makeup that can last through a full 8-hour work day and beyond is sometimes WAY too challenging. We try everything too.. all of the tricks.. all of the products. To save yourself some time, check out this product review below. I’m a fan of having a mixed bag though - so I own them all, and use them all too. Sometimes a certain mascara is better for a different look and most times a combo of mascara is what I need to accomplish the look I’m going for.

However; for work days, I don’t go with anything too heavy so usually just stick to one.. mainly for time’s sake.

The first mascara I had bought was by recommendation of many co-workers and many Nordstroms employees. Chanel Le Volume - a deep black and super wet formula. Together, this means you don’t need to do more than one coat really. Two coats really stands out and makes your eyes pop. It didn’t flake on me and stayed bold all day. I love this one.. but if I’m finding flaws, I have to say the ultra wet consistency makes this one a little messier to work with and made it really hard to use on my bottom lashes. Subsequently, I found that it does run after some time. Disclaimer: my mom also wears this mascara & I swear her makeup hardly runs. Maybe it’s my face.. idk.

So, unconvinced I decided to try another Nordstrom employee suggestion - Charlotte Tilbury Full Fat Lashes. They described this brand to me as “the new kid on the block”, which I instantly loved. I’ve also found this to be pretty true too. I have seen so many new products show up on the market of hers and have loved everything I have swatched. I’ve also seen tons of activity on social media for her Brand and lots of celebrity endorsements too, so definitely a quick raising popularity for this new kid on the block (which, I’d say is justifiably so). This was the one for me when i first started using. So much so I went through two tubes before trying the third brand! That’s because the formula is the perfect consistency. One coat gives you great coverage (I preferred two, but I like it bold) and it stays in place throughout the day. It’s a total winner. Okay, so what’s the draw back? It runs out way too quickly. Actually, it doesn’t really run out so much as it just dries out. It’s a bummer because it just gets flaky after a while… which is just as bad as running. Great product if you can score at the Nordstrom Anniversary sale though.

The final product is my favorite so far. NARS Climax mascara in it’s hot red tube is totally awesome to use. I LOVE the brush, for both top and bottom lashes. The consistency is great - bold and easy to work with.. I feel like I have so much control when I’m putting it on. I definitely go two coats but this is because I can get them fuller and longer looking with two coats. So far I haven’t had to worry about wiping my corners every few hours to deal with run away mascara & am super happy with it. Granted this is still a trial in process - but so far so great. I have seen like, every blogger boast about this mascara so naturally I wanted to find something wrong with it, but I’m convinced. Totally convinced. Plus, over all of the others this one is the cheapest so naturally that makes me like it more LOL

Have you tried any of these?

If you’ve found a great mascara, share what it is below!

xoxo
