2020 is the year that sent us all home + taught us how to appreciate what we have.

It was also the year of repeated, sometimes boring, date nights at home. Now that 2021 is here it looks like we’re in for a little more of the same. Our Date:

For our first “adventure date”, Brandon and I poured up a glass of whiskey and sat down to really get into it. When we realized just how late at night it was when we finally got to it + just how broke we were feeling that day (hello homeownership lol) we decided to pick something that was going to be sort of ‘short and sweet’.

Using the categories we navigated our way to the “I’m Crazy About You” section and landed on date #21, “Speak my Language” and started scratching …

BOY was this date rewarding!!!

Without giving away too many spoilers, may I just say… having to take a test that prompts you and your partner to speak openly and honestly about your needs and wants is the ultimate way to zest up date night.

As mentioned, Brandon and I have been together for 10+ years, but let me tell you this date had us communicating and connecting on a level we never would typically on a normal date. Having to follow instructions and answer questions we wouldn’t usually ask made it so easy to enjoy each other’s company in a deeper and more meaningful way.

We grew so much closer this night. Now, we can’t wait for our next Adventure Date.
